Carlos Oliveira - Interview

Today we are interviewing the one and only... Carlos Oliveira! An exclusive interview to Katy’s Post.

Interview recorded 1/24/2025

Q: Hello, welcome to Kathy’s Post. After the success of the last interview, today we are interviewing another Special Guest… everyone welcome Carlos Oliveira! Hi, how are you doing?
A: Hellooo! It's such a blessing to be here with you Kathy. I'm feeling really excited to be talking with you
Kathy: That's so nice! I'm very happy to interview you!

Q: So, let’s begin with a little introduction. You started making music back in 2020 and on your Soundcloud we can find some songs and remixes made by you. Can you tell us more about your journey in making music and who gave you the inspiration to start producing music?
A: Well, I started out in 2020 as you stated, but not in the music producing route but as in mashups, music edits, and stuff like that. I've started to create my own music in January 2021, under the name Cxrlos, which I made my first album called 'Secret Desire'. It was pretty bad.
Kathy: That's very interesting! Thank you for clarifying.

Q: Something that really has caught my attention when I discovered your music was your logo. Can we know who made it? and if there’s a meaning behind it?
A: My logo was firstly drawn by me, and digitally made by my dear friend Vividx. To be honest, I've wanted to have an logo that wasn't a simple text that said Carlos Oliveira. So, I started to draw small heads and thats how I created it. One of the main reasons I wanted to have an logo like that, is because of one of my biggest idol Deadmau5, which his logo is mainly known for the helmet head he uses on his shows.
Kathy: That's so cool! I always wondered what was the inspiration behind it.

Q: Talking about music and music releases, you have been teasing your new album “08clubkidd” with some song snippets via Discord. Can you tell us more about this new project and when we could expect a release date or an estimated year for the release of this new record?
A: The album is almost on the way to be finished, I still gotta finish some songs but majority of them are ready to go. I would like to hope that I can release this album on the next 5 months. The album is like one of the best music I've ever created, it's true to who I am, and to the little Carlos that grew up with electronic music.
Kathy: We are very excited to listen to this new project! Can't wait!!

Q: What are your inspirations for this new album? Are there some artists or songs that caught your interest in the making of this project? And what type of music genre can we expect this record to be?
A: This album is mainly electronic dance music. I've studied many genres that's based on EDM, such as: techno, jumpstyle, hardcore, bubblegum bass, drum n bass. One of the songs that I like to say is the mother of this album is 'When I Get To The Club' by HI LIFE, which was really one of the songs that made me get up and start to work on this debut album.

Q: Can we have some information about the tracks that are gonna be on this album? and if possible, some song names too?
A: Of course!! We have, obviously, the singles: Společnost Dolu (Society Down) and Between Us Two. I have an song called 'Cheshire Cat' which is dedicated to my dear friend Cheshire Cat who unfortunately passed away, and a few recreations of old songs that I've made on the past few years, and very exciting collabs.
Kathy: Oh wow! Definitely very intrigued by these song titles..

Q: Can we expect some visuals or music videos for this new project? And also, can we have some details about the Album Cover?
A: For visuals, I would like to say no. I don't plan on making music videos, maybe visualizers if I have the time to create them. About the album cover, it's an drawing made by my bestest of best friends: Taida, in which we just decided to use one of my Roblox avatars just for fun and we decided that it would've been a great idea. It's very neon, colorful, very scenekid aesthetic.

Q: As you mentioned earlier, a very unfortunate event has occurred the last month with the passing of a dear friend of yours Cheshire Cat who was supposed to be featured on your new album. Recently you announced that the track you two worked on is gonna be reworked and renamed as a tribute to him. Can we know more about this track?
A: This track is definitely one of the tracks that stand out on the album because I would like to think its one of the songs that don't really have the same genre of other songs. It's a drum and bass song which I never actually tried to make. On the topic about Cheshire, as stated we were supposed to work together on this song but due to the unfortunate events, I ended up finishing the song alone with some tips and help he left me with.
Kathy: That's very heartbreaking... but I know it's gonna be a beautiful tribute to him.

Q: Since we are in the topic of collaborations, a song that has been a huge hit on SoundCloud is "Bubblesong" by Plutonic Venus. What was your experience working with her? Can you tell us more about this collaboration? And can we expect more collabs between you two?
A: Bubblesong was a song that I was very curious to make. It's one song that was actually hard for me to conceptualize, but it was really quick to make. I made that song with the demo Plutonic Venus sent me in about I think 50 minutes. About more collabs, hell yeah. Making music with Plutonic Venus is such a blessing. Her mind is really powerful and she's never afraid to test limits, try to make such experiments with her songs. She's truly one to keep an eye on.
Kathy: Love to hear that and can't wait to hear future collaborations!

Q: Besides Carlos Oliviera you have an alias called "Godsintertwined". Can you tell us more about this alias? The story behind it.. and maybe some possible music releases with it?
A: Oh yeah. Godsintertwined is an small ambient horror experiment I made for my friend Crystallisee's label "Cult Crystal". One of my biggest fixations is horror games, especially their soundtracks. I've created Godsintertwined to be this world that encapsulated a concept of after an apocalipse. One of the two songs I made for GI “FACADE” is probably one of those songs which I like to think that could fit that concept. And about more music releases, I do plan on working on an EP dedicated to that project.
Kathy: That's incredible! More versatility in your music production too!

Q: And lastly, talking about future releases… are you gonna collaborate with new artists? Or is there someone you would like to collaborate with?
A: I truly hope so. I've worked with many brilliant artists that are helping me with '08clubkidd' like Angyl, Julius and Vividx and many more which I would like to reveal later on. About wanting to collaborate, I don't think I do have anyone in mind! I've been working with all of my friends which is already a dream come true. But, who knows right? Maybe in the future I could be making music with someone new!

Kathy: Thank you so much!!! It was a pleasure to have you here and I hope you enjoyed the interview!
Carlos: It was such an amazing moment to have. I have to be thanking you for giving me this space that I could finally speak about my work that I make with my whole entire soul.
