MSCS - Interview

Another exclusive interview to Kathy’s Post, starring Ms Chicken Sandwich (MSCS) with topics about her music and future projects
Interview recorded 1/31/2025
Q: Hello! Welcome to Kathy’s Post. Today we are interviewing a new rising star… everyone welcome Ms Chicken Sandwich! Hi, how are you doing?
A: I’m doing good! I’ve been so fucking busy
Kathy: I’m so honoured to have you here today and it’s a pleasure to interview you.
Q: You are an experimental electronic music artist, DJ and producer. You started producing music over a decade ago, can you tell us more about your journey in making music and who inspired you to choose this path?
A: Well, I’ve been in love with music for a very long time. My dad really put me onto 60s and 70s rock then I just discovered pop music organically, and then slowly got into more experimental areas. I think that experiencing different genres at such a young age is super important if you wanna work in music.
Kathy: That’s very true! And we are very interested in what you’re gonna bring next.
MSCS: Yes! I’m going to be doing so much this year, I’ve been planning tons of things for my next project and I plan for it to be a full album!
Q: As mentioned by you, your experience in the music industry was developed under various aliases. Can we know more about them?
A: I’m not gonna lie, I don’t remember most of them but I do know like what genres I did throughout the years. I went from Lofi Hiphop in 2016-2018, to like a Memerap stunt for a year, then I got into hyperpop for a bit in 2019-2022. I eventually stopped to make a experimental electronic stuff until finally around 6-8 months ago, I started MSCS.
Kathy: That’s so cool! You really made a journey experiencing many genres.
MSCS: Indeed! It was such a fun experience being like 11 and trying to put myself into different subcultures and music communities (even if it didn’t work out)
Q: Going back to the topic of music and music releases, your debut EP “MSCS” will be out February 28th. What can we expect for this new EP? Will there be some collaborations? Or is it gonna be solely you?
A: Honestly, “MSCS”(EP) is just an introduction to my style. It’s like my little “Hello!” to the world of experimental music and electronic music. It’s gonna be very pop oriented with a little club aspect in some songs, the only song I haven’t released on the EP is the original version of “SHAKE IT (LOUD)”. There will be no collaborations as most will probably be done for the next project.
Q: A new collaboration that has been released recently, was with the incredible Cortisa Star! Can you tell us more about this collaboration? How was it like working with her? Will you two collaborate on other tracks again in the future?
A: Cortisa was amazing to work with and also a great friend. She is so supportive and amazing and I wish we could talk more, but she’s been so busy as of late. Me and her are going to be collaborating with Umru and Chase Icon for her EP and half of the songs are produced by me. Fun fact, I produced Bad ASF in my dorm room at 3AM while eating a Taco Bell burrito
Q: Talking about the collaboration with Cortisa, Umru and Chase Icon. Can you tell us something more about this new project? What can we expect from it? And how it was working with a PC Music member?
A: I don’t think I can say too much, but I will say that from this collab, I have had so many new opportunities with not only Umru, but with Chase herself. Umru was really fun to talk to and we geeked out on sound design a lot. Chase was also really nice and we clicked a little bit
Q: Via Discord, today you confirmed new collaborations with many artists, such as Jade Nicole and Cece Natalie. Can we know more about these collaborations?
A: All I can say is that it might be a bit for that to come out but I think it will come out this year, we just need to be patient you guys; but besides music, I’m working on some videos
Kathy: Talking about that… ↓
Q: As announced via Instagram… you’re currently working on a music video that is supposed to be coming out soon featuring a dance crew, cosplayers and trans dolls. And via Discord you confirmed about “Elektro Botz” being the dance crew. What can we expect from this music video? Is it for your new EP or a different project?
A: The music video is for my next album and I’m really excited about it. I’ve been wanting to do a really fun music video with my friends and some other people for a while and I think that Elektrobotz will definitely fit the vibe. All I need to do is just... not spend any money for a bit so I can pay everyone involved! But the music video will be very high energy, and I think the Elektrobotz will do an insane job. They are all so talented at what they do and I think that more people should be appreciating dancers in the industry.
Kathy: Oh that’s very intriguing! This next project is already very fascinating!
MSCS: Yes! It will probably be a full album like I said, but I think it will probably have some features as well! (Have no clue who though)
Q: After the critical acclaim of your songs.. you get to remix “Ur Dad” by Miss Luxury. Can you tell us how this happened? What was her reaction to your remix?
A: My manager got me in contact with her because I’m pretty sure we have the same manager. So I asked if she would be down to collab so he offered that I do a remix for her. So I ended up doing it and she absolutely loved it. She even did a special verse!
Q: At the end of 2024 you receive an unexpected notification by Instagram… telling you that Charli XCX followed you! What was your reaction to it? Are you in contact with her? Is a collaboration in the works?
MsChickenSandwitch via Instagram
A: Okay so, I woke up to that after a really long day of doing homework and I was really suprised. The day before she follows Cortisa and she told me that she found me through my production on “Bad ASF”. She was super sweet and she told me her favorite song by me is “WISH U THE BEST”. I would want to talk about a collaboration but I am being a lil cautious just in case so for now, no comment.
Q: This is more of a satire question, but since I’m in contact with some friends of yours, what they wanted to know was: will you remember them once you will become a mainstream artist?
A: Of course! I’ve actually been showing people in the industry some of their music and some people are fucking with it! I am a big advocate for helping out my friends achieve their dreams, I want them to blow up and make music with me.
Kathy: That’s incredible! It’s very beautiful to see you giving opportunities to small artists… especially since many of us start from nothing
Q: And lastly, what are your plans for the future? Can we expect you performing live? Maybe some small tours?
A: I want to perform at Trans Pecos with Cortisa. Maybe have the Elektrobotz dance on stage or something
Kathy: Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to interview you and giving us all these new informations for your next projects! Hope you enjoyed the interview and thank you again!
MSCS: Thank you!
